Training your staff to be more aware of disability, access and inclusion will not only help your organisation meet its responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act. Disability awareness is good for customers, good for colleagues, and ultimately good for business.
Physical changes to buildings mean little if employees are not trained to understand their own and the organisation’s responsibilities, and how to utilise any special facilities or procedures which have been put in place for disabled users. This course trains employees to understand the needs of a variety of disabled users, and equips employees to communicate with disabled users and to be confident to handle specific needs and make reasonable adjustments.
Disability awareness training is essential for all employees (and others, e.g. contractors) who are likely to have contact with disabled people, and is recommended for all employees.
