The new one-day course from Workplace Law Training will give delegates an introduction to designing in accordance with Building Regulations Approved Document B (Fire Safety) and will include a look at how means of escape should be considered in a variety of purpose groups.

The afternoon sessions will focus on the new BS 9999:2008 Code of Practice which replaced the BS 5588 series on 6 April 2009 and will explore the differences regarding means of escape between the two approved documents.
This one-day course has been specifically developed to provide practical information for anyone responsible for the design, management and fire safety of the built environment.

This CPD event contains presentations, workshops and provides real case study examples to help you understand the impact of the new codes of practice and issues that need to be addressed when looking at new or existing buildings.

  • Risk assess existing means of escape
  • Understand how BS 9999 differs from Building Regulations Part B
  • Use Building Regulations Part B to check or redesign means of escape within their buildings and have a good understanding of the principles used

  • Understand the use of BS 9999, the benefits it brings and also the limitations associated with it
