Thanks for comments so far re fire risk assessment sheets. Many Workplace Law members may be aware that we are currently running a series of fire safety conferences that cover the new fire legislation (Regulatory Reform Order or RRO).

In response to delegate questions at these events, we will shortly be making more information available on fire safety, including some answers to common questions as well as updated versions of the fire risk assessment sheets originally referred to at the beginning of this thread (these date back to 2001). This information will be available on Monday.

Workplace Law is now providing fire risk assessments. Our team of expert IFE certified consultants, all of whom are ex or serving members of the fire service, will provide your organisation with a comprehensive fire risk assessment to ensure you are fully compliant with this new reform.

The new legislation requires employers to carry out a fire risk assessment for each of their premises and employ a competent person to manage fire risk. Fire risk assessment has therefore become an essential requirement for employers.

Benefits to you and your organisation:

? get fully compliant with new 2006 fire legislation
? save money with cost-effective solutions from our expert consultants
? learn how to incorporate the fire risk assessment into your ongoing management procedures
? save time with single site or multi site risk assessments performed to your schedule

The fire risk assessment will consist of a practical inspection of your buildings and premises. You will then receive a report of the findings of the inspection which will include a formal fire risk assessment, and summary report with recommendations.

Areas covered include:

? portable fire-fighting equipment
? fire alarm systems
? fire safety information and training of persons
? working on the premises
? escape routes and emergency exits
? automatic door release mechanisms (where fitted)
? locks and fastenings fitted to all doors required for means of escape
? steps, stairs, floor coverings and handrails to escape routes
? fire doors and self closing devices
? special arrangements for ensuring the safety of disabled persons
? fire and emergency signs and notice
? emergency escape lighting
? maintenance arrangements for equipment and devices listed above
? arrangement of furniture and fittings
? adequacy and integrity of fire separation
? risk to life
? fire hazards

New fire regulations come into effect in April 2006!

To ensure that you are fully compliant in time you must take action now. If you would like advice on how the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order will effect your business or require more information on fire risk assessments call Workplace Law on 0870 777 8881. We will be happy to visit you for a free initial fact finding consultation on your premises.

Thanks,

Ben

Colin,
A very good point. This guide is based on a paper from a Conference that we ran in 2001. If you can send us your e-mail address then we will happily send you the documentation.
Please e-mail me at ciaron.dunne@workplacelaw.net, or call in on 0870 777 8881.
Regards, Ciaron

A great guide. However, you refer to Assessment sheets within the text of the guide. The sheets don't appear to be attached to the guide or am I missing soemthing? If not, could you tell me where I might get them.
Thanks
