I agree that we are still not doing enough for those who are the bedrock of any company regardless of its size.... the people.

It would be political suicide to legislate to a degree that would include every theatre of operation inc government. Hopwever I note that there are still no questions being asked as to how this could easily and inexpensively be resolved.

I have done extensive research in to this area and although I have offered to prove my findings many times, no one seems to want to meet and discus or look at what is on offer. I would even do the work at my own expense to prove the theory.

Any takers.....?????

Unfortunately the law being extended is a necessity, too many employers do not provide adequate support to staff. Those employers who consider their staff as people and not working units and make reasonable adjustments have nothing to fear.

In my case whilst Crown Immunity still exists Government Departments can continue not to lead by example and abuse staff by providing inadequate protection across all areas of H & S.

Stress in this case is caused by inadequate training, shortage of staff in key areas and bullying and harrassment. This will only get worse with the proposed reductions.

Workplace stress is one of the main reasons why civil service sickness is so high.

Its odd that the lawyers are expressing concerns about new legislation. In my experience new and ever more complex laws give lawyers an ever increasing opportunity to generate income.

Good Morning,

Having spoken with the Prime Ministers office with regards Stress In The Corporate Workplace.... I am amazed that we as a nation are still not using the facilities that are widely available to illiminate this issue of Stress In The Work Place. I have recently completed and am seeking to have a report published on this very matter.

I introduced a well placed company who have shown that they can reduce stress in the work place by as much as 85% and that they, unlike some other companies are so confident in their claims that they work for the first quarter without charging, the client so that client may see the results prior to making a payment and thus remove some of the financial risk.

Two of my clients are looking in to this service as are the Police Federation and the Ambulance Association.... could it be that industry just view this as a problem best solved by managing the loss and or replacing the staff....
