Anna, Just a key point is if you hold personal information on employees involve in occupational accidents, you would be expected to retain the information for up to 40 years.
HASAWA 1974 applies.

How long should you keep personnel files for ex employees for? We are a relatively smally company and don't outsource our archiving and I am running out of space. I have a number of files of ex employees who left some time back but I am unsure on whether I should be keeping their files and if not, can i just put them in the confidential waste?
