With all due respect if you are not aware of what to do, you need to ask yourself am I competent enough person to carryout the responsiblities of the role?

STOP! This isn't mean't to be personal, but one of the basics of HASAWA 1974 Section 2 (2) c: Provide ‘Information, Instruction, Training and Supervision’ for health, safety and welfare of employees whilst at work.

You need to go on training to ensure you can diligently comply with the law on behalf of your employer and your employees.

I would recommend doing a NEBOSH level 3 certificate (12 days work) which will provide the tools and knowledge for you to perform to a very good standard (whatever industry you work in).

The BSC have an amazing learning centre in Hammersmith, London and can provide an exceptional experience.

http://www.hse.gov.uk/risk/casestudies/pdf/office.pdf this link to the HSe website in relation to risk assessment and offices may help too - we have a similar form as Janice however we use this as a one off baseline hazard audit which the risk assessment/s will then be built upon - dont forget if you identify working with VDU's as a hazard then on your generic risk assessment form as part of your actions you must then complete risk assessments on each user/workstation, similiary with identified COSHH/Manual Handling activities

hope this helps :)
