I agree Phil. The point of this story is that it is an antidote to the usual Daily Mail/Daily Express "political correctness gone mad" rants where a minority group "gets away" with something which is seen as being unreasonable. Here the employer has taken sound action whilst emphasising that there is provision for Muslim employees to pray, which is respected by the organisation. It's a good news diversity story.
I don't want to get into a perverse and ridiculous them and us situation, but this does seem to be stretching the point.
I work with Muslims and they don't stop work to pray, instead they pray during their breaks, which is the requirement of London General Bus company.
And if this happened all the time it wouldn't have been a news article on here, so I think that Ernie hasn't quite grasped the reality of the situation.
Left unchecked they'll have us all banging our heads against the ground five times a day. There's a number of areas where muslims have still got it right and if we re-adopted their ways our society would benefit from it. This, however, is not one of them.
