Absolutely, we have recently had some promotional video shot at our work place, and even then we were asked to sign disclaimers.
Although I'm not saying this will happen, I have a friend that was being spied on when she was visiting a private house in her job as a carer (in USA), strange things started to happen and she had serious concerns she was being watched.
The organisation she was working for also became suspicious and called in a private investigator, using some expensive gadgetry they found several spy cameras, and the clients brother ended up in jail.
So, if you do seriously think that could be happening, a call to a PI wouldn't hurt if all other avenues have been used up.
I agree, we have cameras at work but we have to inform people that the cameras are there. we dont have signs but the cameras are visable and everybody knows.
Hi
I'm wondering if anyone could provide some info or guidance on the subject of video and/or audio being monitored in a place of work.
The scenario is: An individual is living at home with regular health staff who are working in 12 hour shifts.
Due to the nature of the illness there is at least 1 camera in the person's bedroom which monitors her sleep. It is believed this camera is linked to an internet connection and is being monitored off site at a relatives home.
The problem is the health care staff also strongly suspect that other cameras and audio monitoring equipment is also fitted in other areas of the house as the relative involved has turned up un-announced with knowledge of conversations and /or incidents that have only just occurred!!!
Being as this is the health workers work place where do they stand with regards to cctv and audio being monitored or recorded??
There are no signs etc anywhere in the property and the health care agency who provide the staff have not been informed of any monitoring facilities in place other than the patients bed area.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Jason, the employer should still have CCTV signs somewhere generally visible, even if only at the front door/staff entrance stating purpose etc.

If present this goes against the Data Protection Act. They should not be monitored without their knowledge.
