Surprising and interesting as for sure under Data Protection it is simply a "Duty of Care" issue to share this information with other official agencies.

The employee, as a teacher, does not appear to have been engaged by the person as their lawyer or legal friend who they may expect a duty of non-disclosure of anything they knew or found out about in conversation !

I should think ' if ' the victim had been one of their other students who found out that a potential suspect had gone unreported by the school and they were being put in the dock for neglegence in their duty of care they would be even more unhappy with the teacher ..........

Suppose another case of snatching disaster from the jaws of success and what about the teachers expectation of non-disclosure of their report ?
