It is legal, but it's a bit harsh. If you are paid for your breaks then there should be no reason why you cannot leave the site as long as you are back in your allocated time. What are the reasons for making the site 'No Smoking'? Is it a health and safety issue - i.e. flammable materials etc?
Hi the company i work for has made the site a no smoking site (not allocated anywhere to smoke at all) and we have been told if we are caught going off site to smoke then we will be fired as we are paid for our breaks so are not allowed to leave site. Is this legal? If not is there anything we can do about it?
