Who would be a MP? The long hours, the constant battles to get your views heard and proposals agreed. The continuous nagging of constituents who feel that the promises that were made at election time have been long forgotten. Well, having seen the recent news that MPs are up for an 11% salary increase, I for one want the job!!! On 14 November last year, my colleagues and I, whilst cruising the waves of social media, all had to ask the same question: what is this #wifm event going on, and why is it clogging up our twittersphere?! Quite unbeknownst to (and more fool) us, the Women in FM Special Interest Group were staging their inaugural WIFM Annual Conference at Channel 4, a get-together of the movers and shakers of the X chromosomes in the FM industry – and what a stir they were making! I am very privileged to Head up the team of CDM Coordinators within Workplace Law, which as a unit endeavours to provide the best possible service we can to our clients. We receive many plaudits but I have a more personal, wider agenda, of raising the profile of health and safety (and the CDMC role) within the industry.
