It's pretty lowlife behaviour that history will mark with the same "dark satanic mill" inference that the industrial North was tarred with before the philanthropists reformed rights, conditions etc. We were for a brief period heading t...

...as covered in the Climate Change Programme Review Consultation paper. · · The main risk for a firm participating in the UK ETS scheme is failing to meet its emissions reduction targets. If, at the end of an annual compliance period, a firm has not met its target by reducing its emissions or by buying allowances from other firms, there is a three-month reconciliation period. ...nding on the location of the smoke-free booth workers may not have to stray too far from their workplace in order to smoke, reducing time lost through cigarette breaks. Bad idea? It's hard to ignore the cost of doing anything to accommodate the needs of smokers. There's the direct cost, such as buying and maintaining systems, whether indoor or outdoor. There's time lost during breaks, which is likely to be increased if long journeys are required. And there's the continued `invisible' cost of higher sickness absence levels among smokers, more days lost to ill health, the additional burden on the ...

In summary, then, 2006 is not the year for managers and directors to panic no-one should be buying tickets to Rio just yet. Although the calls for greater individual liability will continue to be made, this is not something that is due to change within any appreciable timeframe.
