The employer of a man who suffered severe chemical burns at work has pleaded guilty at Croydon Crown Court to breaching health and safety legislation. The prosecution, brought by the HSE, follows an accident last year involving Kevan Bloomfield of Gravesend, Kent. Whilst laying a concrete floor, Mr Bloomfield received severe chemical burns to his lower legs. The burns were so drastic that one of his legs was later amputated.
