Biography
Mahendra is a graduate electrical engineer with 31 years' experience. He started his career with the National Coal Board and specialised in high voltage distribution and motor control in explosive atmospheres. He then moved on as a design engineer for a leading industrial controls manufacturer. He became plant engineer for Electrolux, which is the largest domestic appliance manufacturer, looking after all site facilities and manufacturing plant. He has spent the last 15 years with Bureau Veritas, a leading engineering inspection, testing and certification company. Mahendra progressed to become technical head of the electrical section, setting standards for safe electrical inspection and testing. He represents the company on national and international standards committees for electrical installations. He also works closely with the HSE on electrical accidents to produce safer systems of work and machine electrical safety.
