Biography
Tom Daltry has practised as a tax lawyer since 1982. He became a partner in 1988 and is now Head of Eversheds Tax Group, based in London. Tom and other members of the Tax Group provide tax advice in respect of the complete range of corporate and commercial transactions and structures with which the firm is involved. Tom takes a particular interest in HR tax matters. This includes the design and implementation of employee share schemes in both the quoted and unquoted sectors. Tom’s experience also includes the broad range of employment tax issues to include the structuring of employee benefit arrangements (including flexible benefit plans), structuring termination packages, status and other employment related disputes or investigations and dealing with cross-border assignments of employees. Tom has written for, or been quoted in, The Sunday Times, Real Deals, Real Business, Taxation, European Taxation, the Journal of International Taxation and The Law Society’s Gazette and is a regular speaker at seminars. He has been quoted on the subject of Budget proposals relating to employee share schemes, also playing an active role in arranging for the submission to the Inland Revenue of comments on behalf of Eversheds as part of the consultation process relating to prospective legislation in the share scheme field. Tom is a member of the Business Tax Forum (taxation practitioners sub-group) which holds high level meetings with the Inland Revenue on topical issues. He is a member of the Share Scheme Lawyers Group.
