Biography
Rachel specialises in employment and litigation with particular emphasis on Defendant personal injury work and health and safety. She has been involved in a wide range of cases ranging from general slipping and tripping cases to accidents resulting in brain damage and has experience of all aspects of personal injury litigation from dealing with the initial letter of claim and investigating the circumstances of the accident to negotiating settlements and preparing for Trial. A particular focus of Rachels work is risk management and health and safety. Cases are regularly reviewed in order to identify lessons that can be learned so as to avoid similar claims in the future. General advice on health and safety is provided on a range of issues and Rachel has provided training on the subject to senior managers and HR Professionals. As a member of the Employment Unit Rachel advises large and small companies, institutions and employees upon a range of employment issues. Her knowledge of both employment and personal injury law is becoming increasingly useful now that Employment Tribunals are able to award damages for personal injury and more employees are bringing stress related claims in the civil courts.
