Biography
Geraldine Elliott is a very experienced commercial disputes lawyer. She handles a broad spread of commercial work including employment, education and contractual disputes. Geraldine has a particular expertise in employment law. She has been highly rated in the current edition of New City Media Insider's Guide to Employment Law and was also singled out by the Lawyer in a recent review of the top women employment lawyers. She is also cited in Legal Experts 2003. She advises employers on the full range of employment law issues including unfair and wrongful dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, severance agreements, policies and procedure. She advises companies on the employment implications of mergers and acquisitions particularly on TUPE issues. She also represents employees, particularly through her work for teachers' unions and feels that the combination of employer and employee work gives her a wide perspective on disputes and makes her particularly attuned to spotting and exploiting settlement opportunities. Her clients include large plcs and private companies, educational institutions, professional associations and small businesses. A member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the London Litigation Solicitors Association Geraldine is also a trained mediator. She lectures and writes on employment-related issues and edits RPC's employment newsletter, 'Inwork'. She also contributed to RPC's publication, 'Inside Human Rights'
