Biography
Dr Jonathan Pullen is a Principal Consultant at Bureau Veritas with more than 16 years post-graduate experience in environmental monitoring and assessment. Dr Pullen is a Chartered Chemist (CChem) and Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC). Dr Pullen has been with Bureau Veritas since 1991 and prior to this was with the former CEGB's Scientific Services Department. His PhD centred on the effects of acid rain on concretes. Jon's role within Bureau Veritas is project managment of contracts involving: * provision of official guidance on industrial air quality to government departments and agencies; * large, complex, ambient and stack monitoring contracts; * assessment of environmental risk including environmental impact assessments, environmental audits, Operator Monitoring Assessment (OMA) audits, Best Practical Environmental Option (BPEO) assessments, Best Available Technique Not Entailing Excessive Cost (BATNEEC) (latterly BAT) assessments and environmental Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) assessments; * computer dispersion monitoring, indoor air-quality assessment, odour assessment and occupational exposure risk assessment. Dr Pullen is chair-elect of the Source Testing Association (STA) and leads its Health & Safety Task Group, sits on BSI Sub-Committee EH/2/4 on air quality monitoring, and is a registered environmental auditor with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
