Biography
James graduated with a Chemistry degree from the University of Sheffield before training and qualifying as a solicitor (in September 1996) with Addleshaw Booth & Co in Leeds. He moved to Browne Jacobson in Nottingham in 1998 and joined Eversheds as an Associate in October 2001. James specialises in information technology and intellectual property work predominantly in the non-contentious field. He has extensive experience of: ·dealing with a wide range of IT contracts including those relating to systems supply, outsourcing and procurement acting for both customers and suppliers; ·advising a whole host of technology related clients including IT systems suppliers, website designers and ISPs on internet-related issues and contracts; ·information security management (including advising on relevant policies and internal procedures) and data protection law; and ·technology licensing and the protection, enforcement and management of trademark and online IP rights. He speaks and writes regularly on intellectual property, e-commerce and data protection issues. James is a member of the Licensing Executives Society.
