Biography

Jonathan Armstrong qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and has specialised in e-commerce since 1996. He has written a over a hundred articles for periodicals - titles include: "The Companies Act 1985 and the Internet" On Line In Print 1998; "The One in a Million case - Litigator's View" The Lawyer 1998; "The development of UK Internet law: an overview" IT + Communications Law Journal December 1999; "An Overview of e-commerce Litigation in England & Wales" International Journal of e-Business Strategy Management 2000; "Internet Security" International Journal of e-Business Strategy Management 2001. Jonathan has also written a chapter in the NCC's recent publication "Making Sense of e-commerce" and writes a monthly column on e-commerce for Internetworks. He is Immediate Past Chairman of Sheffield Business Club, a committee member of the South Yorkshire ICT Sector Board and is a member of the following organisations: The Intellectual Property Lawyers' Association, The Chartered Institute of Marketing and the National Computing Centre Legal Panel. Jonathan is also a member of the Faculty for the Advanced e-commerce Institute at Georgetown University, Washington DC. In 2001 he spoke at a number of major industry events including the National Computing Centre Annual Conference, Internet World and SMS 2001 at Olympia. Jonathan has also been involved in the development of a number of e-commerce applications. Prior to joining Eversheds he developed one of the first 10 law firm sites in the UK and a business information system which was twice a Regional Finalist in the dti/ISI Awards for Innovation in e-commerce and in 2000 a finalist in the Yorkshire Web Awards. He is currently leading the development of Eversheds' own e80 service at www.eversheds80.com.
