Biography
Lara acts for clients in various sectors, including NHS Trusts, GP and dental surgeries, IT and the media and private individuals. She advises on all contentious and non contentious employment law matters. Lara has considerable experience in advising both respondents and claimants in respect of Tribunal proceedings covering a broad range of claims from unlawful deduction of wages through to whistleblowing and discrimination. She is also gaining experience in the EAT regarding claims of disability discrimination and unfair dismissal and assisted Sejal Raja in Kalubowila v Heatherwood & Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Trust. Lara also has experience in non-contentious matters, including drafting and updating contracts and handbooks and advising on restrictive covenants. Lara also advises senior employees on their exit strategies, settlement packages and reviewing service agreements. In addition, Lara supports both the corporate and property departments in respect of transactional work and has experience of both TUPE issues and corporate support. Lara provides training for her clients. In particular, Lara developed and delivered a programme of employment law training sessions for a major high street retailer which covered the whole of the employment relationship from recruitment through to termination. Lara has also helped to develop and deliver a training programme for a leading learning disability charity. This involved delivering equal opportunities training to the entire workforce from support workers to trustees. Lara also undertakes in-house training for clients. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
