Biography
Sejal Raja, Partner, specialises in Employment Law. She has extensive Tribunal experience in particular in the area of discrimination having been involved in the high profile pregnancy litigation involving the Ministry of Defence in 1995. In addition Sejal has significant experience in non contentious matters including supporting the corporate team in relation to TUPE issues, advising on Restrictive Covenants and obtaining and defending injunctions where restrictions have been breached. Notable cases that Sejal has been involved in include Cannock v Ministry of Defence; Meredith v Ministry of Defence; and Chelminski v Gydinia Shipping Limited; Moyhing v Barts and London NHS Trust and Others, and Kalubowila v Heatherwood & Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Trust. Sejal has a broad range of experience with clients in a number of sectors including NHS Trusts, Care Homes, Charities, Education and acts for a number of Corporate clients. Sejal also acts for a number of senior executives assisting them with their exit strategies; negotiating significant severance payments and advising on setting up competing business in breach of restrictive covenants. Sejal speaks at a number of external conferences and is asked by her clients to provide training to support HR managers and line managers. Last year Sejal presented a seminar at a Care Homes conference and ran internal workshops in managing recruitment, equal opportunities and the running of equal pay cases. Sejal has also written a number of articles; publications include the Charity Times and the Employment Lawyers Association in addition to producing the Department’s internal briefings and email alerts for clients.
