The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation into the death of an 18-year-old demolition worker who died last Friday when the first floor of a derelict building collapsed. The tragedy happened at a derelict cinema in Birkhamstead, Hertfordshire, which was being renovated to convert it into flats.The main contractor, Nicholas King Homes, was aware that the first floor was unstable and was partly rotten and had taken precautions to prevent entry.
