In the current climate of regular strike action by transport firms including the London tube strike and threat of strike by airline employees, employers are likely to face absenteeism issues.
Employees who are late or cannot get to work during strike action may feel they have a case to argue against being classed as absent. It’s an issue that has cropped up regularly in recent years with a variety of incidents testing employers’ business continuity plans.
