Council workers sacked for whistleblowing settle out of court

Six former council employees who were sacked after revealing evidence of drug and sex abuse have received compensation in an out-of-court settlement.

The six whistleblowers were sacked in 2006 after going to the press with allegations about the welfare of children in homes run by Wakefield Metropolitan District Council.
