Today (1 August) marks the one month anniversary since the smoking ban came into force in England under the Health Act 2006. There are conflicting reports throughout industry as to how well the smoking ban is going down; the licensed trade reports dwindling customers and falling profits; a bingo hall in Northampton has been forced to close; and drivers are protesting angrily against signage requirements.
