The House of Lords have been debating amendments to the Corporate Manslaughter Bill today (17 July) for what could be the last time before the 19 July deadline.
There is now agreement between both houses that the Bill should cover deaths in custody, but a deal over timing is still needed.
Leader of the House of Lords, Baroness Ashton of Upholland, stated that it was time to put the Bill on the statute book as it stands, as changes could be made further down the line when the implication... (36 more words)
