The Department for Trade and Industry is now to be known as the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR). In a restructure that has been applauded by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), the new department will bring together the functions of the former Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Better Regulation Executive (BRE), previously part of the Cabinet Office.
