Barrow Borough Council was heavily criticised today by the coroner at the inquest into the deaths during the 2002 Barrow-in-Furness Legionnaires’ disease outbreak. The outbreak, which occurred when a faulty air-conditioning unit at the council-run building Forum 28 sent legionella bacteria into an adjoining alleyway.
