The inquest into the deaths following the 2002 legionella outbreak in Barrow-in-Furness has heard evidence from several of the individuals who were witnesses in the previous manslaughter trials in 2005 and 2006.
Tom Campbell, the Chief Executive of Barrow Borough Council, told the coroner at the inquest that he was aware a month before the source of the outbreak was identified that the cooling towers in the council-owned leisure centre were not operating properly.
