This is a statement made by Jenny Watson, Chair of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) speaking after new research by the EOC showing women who work in female-orientated professions are undermined by poor pay and staff turnover.
Occupations in the public services where most of the workers are women such as carers or nurses tend to be paid less than men in work at a similar level.
