More companies to be covered by energy saving legislation

While the headline issue in the Energy White Paper, presented in the House of Commons today by Trade & Industry Secretary Alistair Darling, may be the UK’s nuclear power strategy, the White Paper included other proposals with important implications for businesses.

The Government’s energy policy goals include cutting the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions by 60% by 2050. The White Paper outlines several new measures, and confirms others which had already been proposed.
