Employers are concerned about the Government’s ‘skills pledge’ flagship initiative as it is not meeting business’ needs. It is the quality of training offered by the Government skills agencies and its inflexibility which is preventing employers from making the voluntary skills pledge. Employers want to invest in training if there is a clear business case to do so.
