On-the-spot penalties could soon be issued to firms who repeatedly disregard health and safety rules if a draft Bill - the Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill becomes law later this year.
The draft Bill, published yesterday (15 May) for consultation, confers powers on regulators such as local authorities, the HSE or the Environment Agency to issue fines to crack down on repeated offenders.
