Network Rail will be appearing in court today (26 March) for the start of a two-day sentencing hearing over the Paddington rail disaster.
The company faces an unlimited fine for health and safety mistakes, which caused the crash that left 31 dead and 400 injured.
The crash happened on 5 October 1999 when a Thames Trains train went through a signal at danger and crashed almost head-on with a Great Western express travelling from Cheltenham Spa in Gloucestershire to London.
