A new voluntary standard for offsetting has been released for public consultation today, designed to clarify the process for businesses and consumers wishing to offset their carbon emissions.
Offsetting is a way of compensating for emissions produced with an equivalent carbon saving – something an increasing number of businesses are currently doing through third-party offsetting specialists - thus lessening the impact their activities have on the climate.
