The case of YMCA v. Stewart is an important decision on the statutory dismissal procedures.
Mrs Stewart was employed as a training adviser at the YMCA. A colleague of Mrs Stewart’s reported her to their shared line manager for allegedly forging the signature on three trainees’ paperwork, which should have been signed by their employer. As a result, Mrs Stewart was suspended and asked to leave the office forthwith.
