Construction companies and developers have been dealt a reminder of the need to ensure that excavation work is carried out safely, after an investigation and prosecution by the HSE.
The prosecution arose following an incident on 10 December 2004 at 49 Tower Bridge Road, London, when a bookshop and the two flats above it partially collapsed in the middle of the night.
