Following extensive consultation and many delays the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations have been laid before Parliament today (12 December).
The Regulations are derived from the WEEE Directive, which is enacted into UK law from 1 January 2007. Producers of electrical goods will then have six months to comply before full producer responsiiblity comes into force from July 2007.
