With the Met Office forecasting further bad weather, with heavy rain and gale force winds expected, businesses are being warned to ensure the safety of their workers.
The warning follows an accident on a Merseyside construction site in which a security guard died after being hit by a wrought-iron gate that had not been properly secured.
The door blew out of control knocking Robert Street unconscious. He suffered severe head injuries and later died in hospital.
