Home Secretary John Reid has announced that a new Migration Advisory Committee will be set up in April next year to advise ministers on immigration issues, and has launched a consultation over exactly what the Committee’s remit should be.
Reid said he hoped the committee would provide independent, expert advice to the Government to help ensure the right immigration system to benefit the country.
