Delegates to the Labour Party Conference in Manchester are being urged by unions to back a new resolution to make negligent directors accountable for deaths at work.
The resolution, proposed by the Transport and General Workers' Union, and seconded by construction union UCATT, calls for the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Bill - or existing legislation - to be amended to include statutory health and safety duties for company directors, carrying a maximum prison sentence of 14...
