Millions of UK workers are unaware of new age discrimination laws which come into force on Sunday (1 October), and many of those who are aware do not believe the new laws will be effective.
A survey by the Employers Forum on Age (EFA) found 50% did not know ageism in the workplace would be outlawed. Meanwhile a separate survey for the charity Help the Aged found that just 42% of people surveyed knew that the law was soon to change.
