As well as introducing new child seat belt laws the forthcoming Motor Vehicles (Wearing of Seat Belts) (Amendment) Regulations 2006, which come into force 18 September 2006, will mean that bus, minibus and coach operators will have to take all reasonable steps to notify passengers of the requirement to wear a seat belt.
The legislation applies to buses, minibuses and coaches that already have seat belts in place, and will only apply to passengers who are 14 years and over.
