The jury has now retired in order to reach a verdict in the trial of council-employed architect Gillian Beckingham.
Beckingham is facing seven counts of manslaughter and one health and safety offence over the deaths of seven people following a Legionnaires’ Disease outbreak in 2002. The outbreak started after deadly bacteria sprayed from Barrow Council’s Forum 28 building’s air conditioning system.
