The HSE has issued a safety alert to all operators of COMAH fuel storage facilites. This mostly applies to companies storing oil and fuel, but it may also be relevant to other sites which store hazardous substances in large tanks.
The safety alert comes after the HSE received new information from the ongoing investigation into the fire and explosion at the Buncefield oil terminal depot in December 2005.
