A former HSBC banker was not sacked because he was gay, but he was discriminated against because of his sexual orientation in the way his dismissal was handled, an employment tribunal has ruled.
In its report the tribunal found that Peter Lewis received "less favourable treatment on the grounds of sexual orientation” during the bank's internal investigation.
