The number of cases heard by employment tribunals fell by 28% last year as new dispute resolution rules began to take effect, according to a new survey.
A report on employment tribunals by EEF, the manufacturers' organisation, has shown a sharp drop in the number of cases in 2005. However, the report also revealed a significant increase in the number of claims withdrawn by the claimant before reaching a hearing, more than double the number from 2004.
