An accident at Corus’ steel plant in Port Talbot resulted in the death of one employee on Tuesday [25 April], the same premises where a major explosion killed three employees in 2001.
Kevin Downey, 49, fell into a flow of molten slag and died some hours later from burn injuries. The BBC reports that Downey had been involved in the rescue of injured workers in the previous incident at the steelworks in 2001.
