Gangmaster licensing begins 6 April

The Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA) is reminding suppliers and hirers of labour that licensing of Gangmasters begins on 6 April 2006.

The GLA was set up to curb the exploitation of workers and up to 600,000 workers will get this protection from gangmaster licensing.

Licences will be required for the supply of workers to agriculture, horticulture and processing and packaging of any produce derived from agriculture, fish or shellfish. Licence applications for shellfish gathering wil... (372 more words)
